Senior Quality Control Engineer

Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Software QC Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, and executing comprehensive test strategies to ensure the quality and reliability of our software products. As a Senior Software QC Engineer, you will work closely with the development and product teams to identify and rectify issues, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions to our customers.

Responsibilities:

Test Planning and Strategy:

• Develop test plans, strategies, and test cases to verify the functionality, performance, and security of software products.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and prioritize test objectives.
• Test Execution:
• Conduct various types of testing, including functional, regression, performance, and security testing.
• Execute manual and automated test cases to identify defects and ensure software quality.

Defect Management:

• Document and track defects, issues, and enhancement requests using appropriate tools.
• Collaborate with the development team to ensure timely resolution of defects.

Test Automation:

• Identify opportunities for test automation and implement automated test scripts to increase efficiency.

Quality Assurance:

• Establish and enforce quality assurance processes and best practices to maintain software quality standards.

Reporting and Documentation:

• Generate test reports, including test results, coverage, and defect metrics.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of test plans, test cases, and test results.

Continuous Improvement:

• Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance software development and testing processes.

Mentoring and Leadership:

• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior QA team members.
• Act as a subject matter expert in quality assurance processes and methodologies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with a focus on testing web and mobile applications.
• Proficiency in manual and automated testing tools and frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, best practices, and defect management.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Experience with test automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Selenium, Python, Java).
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Leadership and mentoring abilities.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., ISTQB) are a plus.
